Chemical and Biological Engineering Ph.D. candidate Jennifer Nill won the 2019 student poster competition at the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (SIMB)’s Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals (SBFC) for her poster, “A multi-scale study to elucidate the role of cellulose physiochemical properties in productive binding of cellulases.”
Professor Marjorie Longo received the American Chemical Society (ACS) Petroleum Research Fund (PRF) New Directions (ND) Grant for her research involving surfactants and lipids.
CHE Professor Karen McDonald and colleagues from UC Berkeley, Utah State, Stanford, Autodesk and Physical Sciences, Inc., were awarded up to $15 million over five years for their Center for the Utilization of Biological Engineering in Space (CUBES).
