Gang Sun

Dr. Sun studies and develops fibrous materials for functional, protective and eco-friendly clothing. Using advanced polymer chemistry, Sun and his team aim to develop textiles that give wearers, particularly in the medical field, maximum protection against biological and chemical hazards, fire and heat, and allow for the integration of devices such as sensors and smart technology. Sun also studies nanofibers and polymeric materials for applications in biological protection and food safety, as well as for use in pesticides and antibiotics.
