Services and Support for Chemical Engineering Students

Chevron Tutoring Program

The Department of Chemical Engineering offers FREE in-person and virtual tutoring in key courses offered in the first three years of curriculum in the Chemical and Biochemical Engineering majors.

The courses we offer tutoring for generally include ECH 5, 51, 60, 140, 141, 142, 143, 145A, 145B, 152A, 152B, and CHE 128A and 128B. Tutors are selected from outstanding junior and senior level students and must have already achieved excellent scores in any course they tutor. The program offers students the opportunity to ask questions in a friendly, informal setting in which they can learn with and from their peers.

For zoom, please click on the link next to the tutor's availability. You will not be able to join unless the tutor has logged in already. You will be placed in the waiting room until the tutor lets you into the Zoom meeting. If you have any issues, please contact [email protected].

Academic Success Resources

  • AATC Tutoring
  • Thousands of undergraduate students at UC Davis use AATC to support academic excellence. All AATC services are organized by subject and students have options like one-on-one tutoring by appointment, drop-in tutoring, asynchronous resources, co-classes, and workshops. Select a subject to see what is offered or to book an appointment. AATC services are included in your student fees, so there is no additional cost to use tutoring. Check out what options you have for tutoring on the AATC Website!
  • Success Coaching
  • Feeling stuck? A success coach can help you take control of your academic, personal, and professional success through self-reflection, skill building, goal setting, and action planning. We listen, ask questions, and serve as your thinking partner. Visit the Office of Educational Opportunity and Enrichment Services Success Coaching website to schedule an appointment with a success coach now!
  • ChE Programming
  • The Department of Chemical Engineering via the ChE Programming "Geek Squad" created a Canvas page hosting a number of resources for students struggling with Python, Matlab, and Aspen Plus. If you are interested in getting access to this Canvas page, please email Professor White at [email protected].
