Bio

Rupak Goswami is a Japan Foundation Indo-Pacific Partnership (JFIPP) Research Fellow (https://www.jpf.go.jp/e/project/intel/exchange/jfipp/research/term_2/Rupak-Goswami.html) and a Visiting Associate Professor. As part of the JFIPP program across the USA, Australia, and Japan, he integrates cognitive perspectives into policy research on climate-smart agriculture in the Indo-Pacific region. He is also an Associate Professor of Agriculture and Rural Development at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, India, where his research focuses on systems analysis of diverse socio-ecological systems. His methodological expertise includes network analysis, whole-farm economic analysis, and fuzzy cognitive mapping, which he applies to understanding the complex behavior of smallholder farming systems. Previously, he was a Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Fellow at UC Davis (2018–19).
